I Made Aradea
Companionship for Romania’s Forgotten Elders
In rural Romania, thousands of elderly individuals live alone, on pensions under €150/month, without heat, regular meals, or visitors. Many are survivors of communism, once teachers or factory workers, now forgotten in drafty homes with failing health and no family nearby.
We are a monthly donor program that funds:
-Wood or pellet heating support in winter months
-Hot weekly meals delivered by trained volunteers
-Monthly “letter visits” – hand-delivered letters and drawings from local students
-Phone call check-ins and seasonal visits

I Made Aradea
I Made Aradea
Casa Bunicilor ("Grandparents’ Home"), a nonprofit based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, founded by social workers and retired teachers. The group began during the harsh 2020 winter, delivering firewood and hot food to pensioners in rural Transylvania, and has since grown into a network offering companionship, warmth, and basic dignity to isolated elders.
